One of the best new additions to our home base of St. Catharines, Ontario, Bushel and Peck is a neighbourhood farm shop located in trendy Fitzgerald neighbourhood of the city, featuring a chef-curated selection of local and Canadian small batch crafted food and beverage options. Long before they were kind enough to allow Novara to grace their shelves, Bushel and Peck had already captured our attention and filled our bellies. Their 0% bottle shop is a first for the city, and we're very fortunate to counted among the mainstay options in their thoughtful, delicious non-alcoholic lineup. 
With a spell of nice weather to lead us into summer, we couldn't help but swoon over this low-ABV blended beer cocktail featuring Ace Hill's delicious pineapple lager. With a nod to the classic 'Jungle Bird' combination of bitter aperitivo and pineapple, this recipe takes the traditional format to new levels, in a very patio-friendly, crushable format that's big enough to share.

Ingredients

45mL Novara Bitter Aperitivo
355mL Ace Hill Pineapple Lager
10mL Demerara Brown Sugar Syrup
10 dashes Dillon's Distillery Pimento Bitters
1 pinch Sea Salt

Preparation Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender cup, and fill with one scoop of ice.
  2. Blend ingredients until thoroughly mixed. 
  3. Pour into a collins glass without ice.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
